Card Data Security Services
Card data security is the top concern for many retail merchants today. ISD was an early adopter of the PABP (now PCI PA-DSS) guidelines for protecting card sensitive data and now offers additional layers of card security that actually go beyond PCI mandates.
The ISD Card Data Security Services combined with the power and stability of the ISD Payment Switch provides merchants with multiple layers of card data protection at a time when card fraud and identity theft are foremost on consumer minds.

Security Services
- Historical Key Management: With the advent of PABP, card sensitive information that is at rest requires encryption. Encryption keys in turn require regularly scheduled updates. In the case of a security breach these keys need to be immediately replaced and deleted. When keys are replaced the client applications need a way to acquire the updated keys. The ISD Historical Key Manager provides a host based service to access encryption keys including a secured WEB GUI to create and maintain those keys.
- Encryption Client: The Encryption Client provides the POS with the capability to encrypt data. The data is securely encrypted before it passes between the store and the central payment application. The key to decrypt this data resides outside the store POS environment; thus, adding an additional layer of card data protection.
- Tokenization: eCommerce, mail order and telephone order shoppers making repeat purchases want a more streamlined checkout experience. Entering credit card information on return visits is perceived as a hassle by many card holders. Accessing credit card information for subsequent transactions using tokenization reduces both merchant risk and consumer concerns in todayís card security sensitive environment.
- The ISD Payment Switch reduces these risks and concerns by separating the store-side tokenization management from the card security management.
- Secure Settlement Transfer: Until recently, there were no security related requirements when communicating batch settlement related information to third party processors. Many processors are now mandating the secured transfer of settlement related information such as the Settlement Deposit File to the processor and the Settlement Acknowledgement File returned from the processor. ISD Secure Settlement Transfer supports several methods of safely passing these files to and from the payment switch.
